Hyaluronic acid can fill your wrinkles and fine lines, address the laxity of your skin and add volume to your lips. You can get all of these by injecting Juvederm Filler.
Juvederm is a brand that has several hyaluronic acid fillers to address your skin concerns separately.
These fillers contain different concentrations of Hyaluronic acid as well as separate elasticity to address skin concerns.
The popular ones in the line are Voluma, Vollure XC, Ultra, Ultra Plus XC and more with varying bonding and thickness.
This article discusses why and where you will require a Juvederm filler. Hence, if you want to achieve a youthful look with a single filler, keep reading to know more.

Juvederm Filler Benefits
The fillers have different purposes according to their thickness and flexibility.
Thicker hyaluronic acid fillers usually have less flexibility because of their gel-like consistency.
Hence, they add definition to cheeks or jawline.
Thinner ones only add hydration without making any significant difference in volume. Hence, your doctor chooses to inject them on lips and under the eyes.
The third type is the bouncier products that add volume.
They especially work on lips and cheeks to increase their suppleness and volume.
Juvederm Voluma XC is one of the most popular among all other offerings. It is a good choice to increase the size of your cheeks.
Your doctor injects it right beneath your skin’s surface to build and recreate the structure and definition of your cheekbones. Also, it adds fullness and volume to your cheeks.
Juvederm Vollure XC looks after your signs of aging.
Do you see some wrinkles, fine lines in your nose and mouth region around the nasolabial folds? These are smile lines that Vollure fills out making your skin look flawless.
Juvederm Ultra XC and Vollbella enhance the structure of your lips. These are the lip fillers you hear about that make your lips appear fuller.
Furthermore, it reduces the hollowing under your eyes and gives definition to the jawline.
Fillers are minimally invasive and are not permanent. Hence, it is better than plastic surgery that can have side effects, complications and long-term results that you may not like.
Moreover, the procedure is only 30 minutes long with less downtime.
Plus, hyaluronic acid is already present in your body hence, there are little to no side effects.
However, the biggest benefit of HA dermal fillers is that they are dissolvable. Therefore, you can actually reverse your treatment if you do not like the results.

Preparation Before The Procedure
Before you begin your procedure it is best to thoroughly convey your expectations to your board-certified dermatologist.
You will see minor changes through a single filler, however, if you want a bigger change then you may require more than one.
There is less quantity in a single injection to achieve drastic results anyways.
While you can get consultation and treatment at the same time, it is better to first consult your doctor and think over the results you want.
This will make you sure whether this procedure can meet your expectations and to proceed with it or not.
Moreover, this consultation will also give your doctor an idea of the number of injections you require.
If you decide to proceed with the treatment then your doctor will advise you to refrain from using certain items in order to prevent bruising.
You should not take aspirin, ibuprofen or other blood thinners as they can cause excessive bleeding during the procedure.
Furthermore, consuming food items like fish oil, ginger, ginseng, garlic, ginkgo, Vitamin E and Omega 3 fatty acids can also cause bruises.
Moreover, you should stop drinking alcohol before the procedure and refrain from any strenuous exercise a day before too.
Do not apply any skincare or makeup on your face rather keep it completely clean for the treatment.
If there is still a chance of bruising then your doctor may recommend applying arnica to prevent it.
Your doctor will begin the procedure by applying a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment site which would be your lips, cheeks or around the mouth and nose.
After letting the anesthetic sit for 15 to 45 minutes, your doctor will clean your face with an antibacterial cleanser.
Then, they will start injecting the fillers onto your target area.

Juvederm Filler Procedure and Results
Injecting a single filler takes about 15 to 30 minutes.
To achieve your desired results, you may require more than one filler. Your doctor will use a needle or cannula to insert it on your face.
They will mark the target area on your face and also massage it after injecting the fillers.
This will aid in evenly distributing the content and preventing swelling.
You can comfortably get the injections in the cheeks and the under-eye area. Since you cannot see these two areas, it is rather easier to get an injection here. However, the lips may hurt a little.
However, these injections contain lidocaine. This substance can reduce pain hence decreasing any amount of pain felt.
Once inside your skin, hyaluronic acid increases the production of collagen that helps to smoothen and plump your skin. Hyaluronidase, an enzyme in the filler breaks down HA to increase its absorption in facial tissue.
The collagen in the connective tissues provides a supple look, adds volume and elasticity plus fills your wrinkles and smooth lines.
Since hyaluronic acid is already present in your skin it boosts the collagen production that depletes over time and results in skin aging.
The procedure wraps up in a maximum of 15 to 60 minutes depending on the site of the treatment.
The results are immediate and can last for up to 12 months to two years.
Though, as collagen production increases over time the final results will be apparent in two weeks’ time.
Your doctor will reassess your results after two weeks to let the fillers settle in.
As hyaluronic acid is already present in your body then there are minimal side effects and risks of this procedure. More on that below!
However, before that, you need to take care of your treatment site to prevent any infections and medical problems.

Post-Procedural Care of Juvederm Filler
Your lips can feel slightly bumpy after the treatment. This feeling may persist for up to two weeks till all the filler settles in.
However, you don’t need to worry as they will not “look” bumpy. Although, they may swell during the first 48 hours after the treatment.
Hence, you should prepare ice and apply it to your lips right after completing your treatment.
Also, apply it before sleeping and as soon as you wake up the next morning.
This will aid in reducing the swelling in your lips.
You do not need any specific downtime but you should refrain from smoking, alcohol consumption and strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after the treatment.
Do not take aspirin for the next 2 full days.
Also avoid going out in the sun, limiting sun exposure and wearing makeup. Leave your face bare and stop your hands from touching or rubbing it.
There is a slight risk of bruising for which you should gently rub ice on that point. Moreover, delay using aspirin another day if you see a bruise.
There is minimal aftercare for these minimally invasive fillers in Dubai. However, if you feel any pain, then you should not let it increase over time.
It is rare for anyone to feel persisting pain after fillers, thereby drop at your doctor’s clinic as this could hint at a worse complication.
You should also visit if you notice constant bruising on your face.
Furthermore, consult your doctor again if you are not happy with your results as these fillers are dissolvable.

Side Effects and Risks
There are no big side effects or risks. The most common ones are mild swelling and bruising.
However, slight swelling is inevitable but will disappear after applying ice in a few days.
Bruising on the injection site will take around two weeks to settle down once the treatments start showing results and the swelling subsides.
Other than that you can see some redness on the treatment site, tenderness, itching and pain.
Rarely, you can feel small lumps or nodules under your skin. These are not visible on the surface of your skin but you can feel them.
Anti-inflammatory injections and antibiotics can easily treat them. Though, your doctor may also recommend completely dissolving the filler instead.
All of these do not last longer than two to four weeks. They subside on their own but if they do not, consult your doctor.
It is extremely important to choose a good doctor as improperly injecting the HA fillers can have worse consequences on your health.
Vascular occlusion is a serious complication that results from injecting the fillers into your major artery.
If you notice extreme pain and bruising right after your procedure then it is time to consult your doctor and ask them to dissolve the fillers. A scar may remain as a result.
However, this condition has potentially worse consequences if the filler enters a major artery.
You can become blind, have a stroke and have abnormalities in your vision.
Hence, it is extremely important to go for an experienced doctor that will carefully carry out nonsurgical procedures involving injections.
